Both Whiteinch Community Council and Scotstoun Community Council have recently launched new WHITEINCH LOGOwebsites containing lots of useful information about the area and what the Community Councils do including minutes from their meetings.

Community Councils are groups of people who give time to, and have a genuine interest in, the well-being of their community. They meet, usually once a month, and their chief role is representative; to consult the local community and to make known to the local authority and other public bodies the views of local people on all matters affecting them.

The local authoriWhiteinchCCty, in return, has a duty to consult community councils on how local services are delivered and other issues affecting their neighbourhoods. Community councils have the right to be consulted on any planning applications in their areas and are also kept informed about licensing applications.

Whiteinch Community Council meet at 7pm on the last Tuesday of the month at The Whiteinch Centre. The next meeting is on Tuesday 27 August.

Scotstoun Community Council meet on the last Thursday of every month (except July and December) at 7.30 pm at the Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre. The next meeting is on Thursday 29 August.ScotstounCC
