Last week we said goodbye to the international volunteers. The 4 students, who were on the Xchange Scotland international volunteer programme were hosted by the LINKES Project up in Knighimagetswood.

The students were in Glasgow for 6 weeks and they were from Spain, Italy and Germany.

In addition to working with LINKES on various activities they also helped out on various projects including supporting the regular Heart of Scotstoun volunteer garden group in finishing off their new sensory garden at the Heart of Scotstoun Community Garden.

They also helped with further development works at the Kingsway Court Community Garden including clearing out unused beds, relocating some of the raised beds and finishing the compost bays.

And, on a seriously warn summers day, they got their hands dirty cleaning up and overhauling the planters in Northinch Street.

The students also helped out with the Glasgow West Community Green Map by adding over 30 new sites to the map, mainly in and around the LINKES neighbourhood,  as well as adding photos of many of the sites that were already on the map.

So a BIG, BIG THANK YOU for all your efforts from everyone at DRCET, Heart of Scotstoun, Kingsway Court Community Garden and LINKES and we hope that you had a great time in Glasgow!

Auf Wiedersehen! Adios! Arrivederci!
