Following the recent public consultation on the proposed new school campus on the existing St Brendan’s Primary school site the council have published the responses.StBrendansPS

The proposed re-development will see the closure of Garscadden and Yoker Primary schools, Thirlstane and Kelso nurseries and building a new non-denominational primary school and nursery as part of the campus on the St Brendan’s site.

The Council has published the consultation response document at least 3 weeks in advance of the Executive Committee meeting which will consider the response at their meeting scheduled for Thursday 12 December.

The following has been taken from the report.

Purpose of Report – To advise the Executive Committee on the outcome of the public consultation on the above proposal.

Recommendations – It is recommended that the Executive Committee notes the content of this report and of the appendices. It is further recommended that the Executive Committee agrees to the proposal to:

(i) close Garscadden Primary School and Yoker Primary School (including Thirlstane Day Nursery) and build a new non-denominational Primary School as part of the campus on the St Brendan’s Primary School site.

(ii) close Kelso Nursery School and build a new, extended day, 52 weeks a year, Early Years establishment as part of the campus on the St Brendan’s Primary School site.

(iii) build a new St Brendan’s Primary School as part of the campus

(iv) build a day/evening community facility as part of the campus
