Area Partnerships are local Community Planning structures which are based around existing council wards. They bring together partners from statutory services, the community, and the voluntary sector to work on issues that are important for the community in this area.

Voluntary sector representatives were elected in August 2013 and their role at meetings is to represent the views of voluntary sector organisations working in the North West of Glasgow at the respective Area Partnerships on issues being discussed, and to identify issues to be raised on behalf of the organisations they represent and the people and communities they work with. The reps were elected on behalf of the West and CentralVoluntary Sector Network, which is a network for voluntary organisations working across the West.

7K0A0246In order for the reps to be effective at these meetings they need to hear from you, organisations working in the area, about what your issues are as local voluntary sector orgs, the issues of your local community, and how you would like to have your say on work that is already happening.

At this North West wide event you will get a chance to:

  • Hear about the new local Community Planning structures and how you can get involved and have your say
  • Meet your local voluntary sector reps on these structures
  • Meet with other organisations working in this area and identify the issues that you think are important
  • Network with other voluntary organisations from across the North West area

This event is open to both staff and committee members of voluntary organisations working in the North West.

Please come along and join us for this half day session where we will work together to explore how the voluntary sector can be an effective and influential voice for voluntary sector organisations and the communities we work with.
