Victoria Park Brochure 23714_Page_1Ryden Commercial Property Consultants, acting on behalf of Glasgow City Council, has put the blaes pitches in Victoria park up for let. This is part of the Council’s strategy to encourage more people to use parks by providing a wider range of activities and services in the park whilst also generating an income from the park assets and bringing vacant buildings back in to use which was outlined by Brian Butler (Commercial Development Manager, GCC Land and Environmental Services) at the Friends of Victoria Park EGM earlier in the year. (see files at the end)

The site is described in the Ryden’s prospectus as: “The subjects comprise the former blaes playing fields which have been unused for some time. The area is relatively flat and laid mainly to grass with some mature planting and trees around the boundary of the site…The subjects extend to approximately 2.7 hectares (6.8 acres)…The site is offered for lease on terms to be agreed.”

In terms of planning the prospectus says “Interested parties should consult with the Local Planning Authority with regard to the suitability of any proposed use”

The closing date for submitting proposals is midday on Friday 26 September (the Friday of the Septemeber weekend) You can find out more about this proposal on the Ryden’s website.
