WAVE MapWhile the hard copy of the map is now available in community centres and from organisations across the local area, the online version of the WAVE Volunteer Map is continuing to grow. Some of the new editions include…

GreenGym_02Still defrosting after last week’s snowy session in Yoker our friends at the Green Gym are now represented on the map. You can read more about the Green Gym and the range of activities you can get involved in by checking out their entry in our Friends Focus series

VolunteerGlasgow_LogoA new outreach service in Drumchapel Library run by Volunteer Glasgow is also appearing on the online map. Held every second Monday from 2-4pm these sessions are a chance to drop in and have a chat with a friendly face from Volunteer Glasgow who’ll help you to use their online search engine for volunteering oportunities to learn more about what’s on offer in the local area. The next dates for these sessions are Monday 16th February and 2nd, 16th and 30th of March

parkrun1Finally for anyone who fancies getting out and about and keeping fit we have the third new entry, Victoria Park parkrun which is held every Saturday morning at 9:30am. This is a free, timed 5K run which is a great way to get out in the fresh air and meet new people. The parkrun is organised entirely by volunteers who do a variety of tasks including operating timers, marshalling at different points around the course or organising the finish funnel.

If you want to be added to the online map or for more information about these organisations and many others where you can get involved as a volunteer in West Glasgow, check out the WAVE Volunteer map or contact katherine@dumbartonroad.com
