20150317_ArdsloyPlace_Before-AfterTo celebrate the completion of the upgrade to the National Cycle Network Route 7 from from Whiteinch to Yoker in west Glasgow there are lots of events happening to raise awareness of the bike path and to encourage people to get outdoors and enjoy nature on their doorstep!

The celebration week will take place from Saturday 21 March through to Sunday 29 March with activities happening across the West of Glasgow! Many of the events happen on a regular basis and others have been organised especially for these celebrations. There’s something for everyone – young to old – so check out the programme below and get active, get involved and enjoy the green spaces in the west of Glasgow!

Events taking place include cycle rides, health walks, bike breakfasts, accessible bicycle demonstration and the official lauch of the West Glasgow Simple Pleasures Easily Found map and the official re-opening of the bike path on Friday 27 March at Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre.

  • Wed 25 Mar – 11am – West Glasgow Green Gym community clean up
  • Fri 27 Mar – 2pm – Official re-opening of the NCN route 7 bike path and launch of SNH Simple Pleasures map

  • Sustrans Greener Greenways and Wildlife Champions project
  • Ditch the Dirt anti-dog fouling campaign
  • Community clean ups
  • Clean Glasgow’s Neighbourhood Improvement Volunteers programme
