20150430_131326We had a great day a few weeks ago with a group of lovely volunteers from Mitie who came along to help us with a big project around the Kingsway Court Community Garden.

12 hard workers from Mitie joined the DRCET team to move soil and turf, clear up and re-surface embankments and generally work to improve the appearance of the landscaped ares around the Kingsway flats.

Having a large team allowed us to make real headway on the project – with over 40 hours of volunteer time being contributed we were able to really make a difference to several areas that were in need of a little TLC.

We had beautiful weather for the day, and morale was kept high by a kind resident who supplied the volunteers with bonus bars of chocolate!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone from Mitie who came along and helped out – the work will make a great difference to the view outside a lot of people’s doors and is very much appreciated.

If you’re interested in getting involved with the community garden why not come along to one of our volunteer sessions in the Kingsway Court Community Garden on Tuesdays from 10:30 – 13:00? It’s a great way to learn more about gardening, meet new people and get out and about in the fresh air!
