PlayOnPedalsDe’ils on Wheels is taking part in a city wide children’s bike amnesty as part of the Play On Pedals project. Play on Pedals will give the opportunity for pre-school children across Glasgow to have the chance to learn to ride a bike before they start school.

We are looking for donations of unwanted balance bikes and small children’s pedal bikes. These  will be added to the existing Play On Pedals fleet bikes which rotates around Glasgow’s nurseries and community groups, ensuring every 4 year old has access to a bike as part of their training.

De’ils On Wheels is a Play On Pedals ‘hero organisation’ and we are working in partnership with a cluster of local nurseries including Thirlestane Day Nursery, Kelso Street Nursery and Whiteinch Nursery.

You can drop off unwanted bikes at De’ils On Wheels workshop every Wednesday (11am-3pm) and Thursday (1-5pm) throughout June.

Play on Pedals is a project funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and winner of the 2014 Dream Fund, and is only possible thanks to the support of players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Play on Pedals is a partnership between CTC, the national cycling charity, Cycling Scotland, The Bike Station Glasgow and Play Scotland and is recognised as a Commonwealth Games legacy for Glasgow.

Working with local ‘hero organisations’ Play on Pedals will give the opportunity for pre-school children across Glasgow to have the chance to learn to ride a bike before they start school. This will happen through providing free training for volunteers to become instructors, instructor trainers and maintenance volunteers as well as the distribution of bikes and resources to those who cannot access them.

You can check out the full list of locations to donate bikes across the city on the Play On Pedals website.
