StreetsAhead2015We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for one of the Evening Times Streets Ahead Awards 2015, an exciting celebration of the Evening Times campaign which has helped to transform the city over the past 12 months.

We have been shortlisted in the Clean Glasgow Environmental Initiative category which will be presented to the city’s best ‘green’ project, whether it’s a recycling scheme, a road safety initiative or other initiatives that can demonstrate what environmental benefits their projects has made to the community.

We are up against Big Green Feet and Love Milton, two great initiatives in the south and north of the City respectively. There are also six other categories of awards and some great projects have been shortlisted including West Glasgow Green Gym, Kingsway Court Clean-up Group, Woodlands Community Garden, North Glasgow Community Food Initiative and South West Community Cycles. All the finalists are shown below.

The awards presentation will be held at the Winter Gardens, Glasgow on Thursday, June 11, 2015.

Streets Ahead launched in 2011, in partnership with Clean Glasgow, Glasgow Housing Association, City Charitable Trust, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and ScotRail and during this time they have been searching for the people and projects who have made a difference to the streets, parks and gardens of Glasgow, by planting, pruning, picking up litter, or planning bigger projects for the future.
