PfS_logoThe Classic Pedal for Scotland ride will take place on Sunday 6 September. The Challenge is now in its 17th year and the 50 mile Glasgow to Edinburgh ride is the event’s most popular ride and attracted over 7,500 participants last year! Over 10,500 riders took part over 6 rides across Scotland. Event participants helped raise over £110,000 for the STV Appeal, topping the £105,000 total in 2013.

Jackie_Bike_KingswayJackie, the fantastic Administrator from Kingsway Court Health and Wellbeing Centre, is for the first time, taking on the Classic challenge to help raise some vital funds for their work. What a star!  Please encourage her, every penny you donate, no matter how big or small, will benefit residents in the Kingsway community and will push Jackie on to cross the finish line.

Pedal for Scotland, organised by Cycling Scotland, is Scotland’s biggest bike event. Back in 1999, the first event attracted 400 riders. The event has grown increasingly popular with more routes, bigger challenges and more and more participants joining in year on year.

And don’t forget if you are doing the Pedal for Scotland then Cycle to Work Day on Thursday 3 September could be the perfect warm up!

We are working in partnership with LINKES and The Whiteinch Bike Club on our West Glasgow Pedallers We Go Pedal project to encourage more people to start cycling or cycle more often!
