Ward13_CommBudgetingEventGarscadden and Scotstounhill Area Partnership will be hosting a Community Budgeting event from 6.30 to 8.30pm on Thursday 21 April at Yoker Resource Centre, 10 Kelso Pl, Glasgow G14 0LL

Following a call for proposals from local community groups/organisations for funding these organisations will be invited to present their plan at the Community Budgeting event. Local residents will then vote to determine which proposals are funded and a decision will be made at the event on which organisations are awarded funding.

The funding is being made available following a number of successful pilots and Glasgow City Council are pleased that the Scottish Government has made funds available to match fund a budget identified by each Area Partnership. This will provide a total of £10,000 for each of Glasgow’s 21 Area Partnerships for local communities to bid into and you can find details of all 21 events on the Glasgow Community Planning Partnership website.

Glasgow Community Planning Partnership is committed to the promotion of Community Budgeting (also known as Participatory Budgeting).  This is a process by which the public are encouraged to participate in decision making.

Further information can also be found on the Glasgow City Council website.
