wts_livingstreetsOctober is International Walk to School Month, when thousands of children across the world will be celebrating walking to school. In the UK the campaign is coordinated by Living Streets the UK charity for everyday walking.

In the UK figures released this month show that the number of children walking to school has reached an all-time low. A generation ago 70% of children walked to school. Today that figure is just 48%. This is a trend that is repeated in many countries around the world.

Throughout the month Living Streets will be talking to communities, supporters and organisations around the world to find out how they’re reversing this worrying trend and asked for your ideas to get children walking more.

Living Street’s ambition is that every child that can, walks to school. Together we can make it happen.
