walkcyclevoteWe Walk, We Cycle, We Vote campaign is organising a training day in Edinburgh on Saturday 26 November and it’s FREE.

The training day is an opportunity for anyone who wants to campaign for cycling, walking and more liveable towns and cities to meet, share ideas and learn. It should offer something for everyone from those just starting out to experienced campaigners.

The aim of the training day is to engage with local campaign groups, individual campaigners and council members to share expertise and ideas and get involved in the Walk Cycle Vote local election campaign in 2017. The Space for Cycling campaign will be at the day to present the tools and resources available through the campaign.

Recent events in East Dunbartonshire with the Bears Way and South Ayrshire with Holmston Road have made it very clear that we need local councillors who support active travel and who are prepared to make space for walking and cycling in our towns and cities.

We Walk, We Cycle, We Vote is a collaborative partnership of walking and cycling organisations which have come together to put active travel on the agenda for the local council elections in 2017, from community and active travel groups to health charities. It is being co-ordinated by Suzanne Forup from Cycling UK and Sally Hinchcliffe from Pedal on Parliament.
