knightswoodbmx_consultation_imageGlasgow Life are holding a public consultation event about the proposed Knightswood BMX centre from 4-9pm on Thursday 19 January 2017 at Knightswood Community Centre, 201 Alderman Road G13 3DD.

The proposed facility will see the creation of the first Olympic standard BMX track in Scotland consisting of 8m and 5m start ramps to accommodate all levels of riders. It is the only new venue being built ahead of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships and will complete the city’s portfolio of cycle sport venues as well as increasing the profile of cycling across the country. It’s construction means that young people will be able to learn all four cycling disciplines across the city –  mountain biking at Cathkin Braes, road and track at the Velodrome and BMX at Knightswood Park.

To find out more about the proposed development please come along to the event and speak to representastives from Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life and Glasgow 2018 European Championships. Alternatively please contact Julia Lapthorn, the Programme Officer, on or 0141 287 0993. You can download the poster here knightswoodbmxcentre_consultationposter_jan17
