YokerCommCampus_photoYoker Resource Centre was founded in 1983, and has been delivering excellent social inclusion programmes to its surrounding communities continuously ever since.  As a result of a new investment from the Big Lottery Fund, they are launching a new programme in partnership with Volunteer Glasgow and people living with a disability. The programme is called INCLUDED, and they now require to fill the following four posts:

  • Team Leader, 35 hours @ c. £28,000
  • Occupational Therapist, 35 hours @ c. £26,000
  • Group Worker, 35 hours @ c. £24,000
  • Volunteer Co-ordinator, 28 hours @ c. £22,000 pro rata

Team Leader, 35 hours @ c. £28,000 – this post is project based to lead a small team to provide an innovative social and vocational service to individuals with disabilities. An awareness and/or interest in adaptive and information technology is desirable. Applications are invited from individuals who have experience of rehabilitation provision, project development and hands on management in the social care field.

Occupational Therapist, 35 hours @ c. £26,000 – working as part of the project team, this post is designed to promote health and well being in people by assisting them, through the use of activity and environmental modification to carry out the activities that enable participation in everyday life. Applications are invited from state registered occupational therapists with an understanding of community development and a strong knowledge of assistive technology.

Group Worker, 35 hours @ c. £24,000 – working as part of the project team, this post is designed to promote social inclusion by developing a full understanding of an individual’s key goals, and the barriers that prevent their achievement. By assisting them, through the use of issue based group work and community research, the post will play a key role in building confidence and aspiration. Applications are invited from individuals who can demonstrate experience of delivering group work in a community setting, and who have a commitment to the social model of disability.

Volunteer Co-ordinator, 28 hours @ c. £22,000 pro rata – this post is managed by Volunteer Glasgow but working as part of the INCLUDED Project staff team at the Yoker Resource Centre, the post holder will be required to recruit, train and support a pool of volunteers who will help INCUDED participants to access a wide range of opportunities outside of normal office hours. They will also be responsible for the establishment and facilitation of a Co-production Network of INCLUDED participants and volunteers as well as working alongside Volunteer Glasgow staff and services to encourage the take up of volunteering by INCLUDED participants. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of recruiting, training and supporting volunteers as well as supporting vulnerable groups.and a firm commitment to equal access for all.
