planningconsultationBack in  January Kevin Stewart MSP, Minister for Local Government and Housin, launched “Places, people and planning: a consultation on the future of planning in Scotland.”  The  and associated research has been published alongside it and the updated participation statement is also now available.

Responses to the consultation should be submitted to Planning and Architecture Division of the Scottish Government by 5pm on Tuesday 4 April 2017.

The consultation paper “Places, people and planning” sets out 20 proposals for change which aim to strengthen the planning system.   The Scottish Government are keen to hear all stakeholders’ views, therefore would be grateful if you could help to raise awareness of the consultation and to encourage your community council to respond.

The Scottish Government will also be announcing some events across Scotland shortly, where members of the team will be available to discuss the proposals contained within the consultation paper.  The events will be published on their website and advertised through Twitter @scotgovplanning

PAS is holding two discussion forums for Community Councils and other community groups to hear their views on the current Scottish Government consultation paper on the future of the planning system.
