The planning application for the proposed Knightswood BMX centre has been submitted to the Council for consideration. This follows on from two consultation events held over the past few months.

The proposed facility will see the creation of the first Olympic standard BMX track in Scotland consisting of 8m and 5m start ramps to accommodate all levels of riders. It is the only new venue being built ahead of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships and will complete the city’s portfolio of cycle sport venues as well as increasing the profile of cycling across the country. It’s construction means that young people will be able to learn all four cycling disciplines across the city –  mountain biking at Cathkin Braes, road and track at the Velodrome and BMX at Knightswood Park.
