The use of plastics, in particular single use plastics, has been in the news and on the TV a lot in the past couple of months.

There were some shocking images on the Blue Planet 2 TV show showing the extent of plastic pollution and the impact it has having on the natural world.

Earlier this month the Scottish Government committed to ban the manufacture and sale of plastic cotton buds and yesterday the Scottish Government agreed to be part of the EU plan to phase out single use plastic by 2030.

And a new campaign – Plastic Free Scotland – has been launched seeking to end the use of single use plastic in Scotland and encourage people to help make Scotland a greener place.
