Sustrans Big Pedal is the UK’s largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge inspiring pupils, staff and parents to choose two wheels for their journey to school.
Sustrans Big Pedal will run for 10 days from 23 April to 4 May 2018 and is open to individual classes as well as whole schools.
On each day, schools compete to see who can get as many of their pupils, staff and parents cycling or scooting to school. A school’s best five days will determine their final position, but they can log journeys on all ten days if they wish.
Pass it on Week is Scotland’s annual celebration of re-use – join in and get swapping, donating, sharing and repairing to help make things last! It runs from Saturday 10 to Sunday 18 March.
And we are getting involved. If you live in the west of Glasgow and you have an unwanted bike then please donate it to De’ils On Wheels and we will put it to good reuse! De’ils on Wheels is Revolve accredited – the re-use quality standard for shops who sell second hand goods in Scotland.
If you live elsewhere in Greater Glasgow there are several other community reuse organisations that will gladly take your unwanted bike – you can find the one nearest to you by visiting www.donateyourbikeglasgow.org.uk
If you are not in the Greater Glasgow area then please call the National Reuse Line on 0800 0665 820 or visit the Recycle for Scotland website to find your nearest location to donate bikes and other household items including furniture, toys and musical instruments.

The elections may be over for a while, but #walkcyclevote continues! With the Scottish Government ‘Programme for Government’ announcement in September doubling the active travel budget it has never been more important to work together to ensure that investment pays off.
