20180825_SCC_Cleanup_headerScotstoun Community Council are holding a Community Clean Up at 10.30am on Saturday 25 August.

The clean up will take place around the Harland Cottages area with volunteers meeting at Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre, 64 Balmoral Street, G14 0BL.

Everyone is welcome to come along and all equipment will be provided but if you have your own gloves and sturdy footwear then please bring them along.

Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre will be hosting a Taster Session from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 25 August 2018.

You are invited to come along and try all the clubs FOR FREE! Heart of Scotstoun are encouraging families to come along and try something new such as one of our many fantastic clubs!

The clubs will be giving you and your family/friends the opportunity to try their classes FOR FREE!!! During this time you are also welcomed to meet our board and team who cannot wait to tell you our visions and goals for the year ahead!

LINKES will be holding their Summer Street Party on Saturday 18 August from midday to 4pm. The event will take place in front of the Lincoln Avenue flats in Knightswood.

There will be lots of fun activities including for all the family including a DJ, food, a climbing wall, face painting and much more!

We’ll be along with our pedal powered smoothies and Dr Bike will be offering free bike checks. It is free to attend. Come along and join in the fun!

We are looking for a dynamic, focused and motivated individual to join our small team.  The position is 12 hours per week, fixed term until 31 March 2021 and the salary for the post is £21,840 pro rata. The deadline for applications has now passed.

The successful candidate’s principal aim will be to enhance and develop our Community Green Team volunteering programme. The position has been made possible with funding from the Voluntary Action Fund’s Volunteering Support Fund.

Glasgow Community Food Network invites you to their Summer 2018 Networking event from 11am to 3pm on Friday 3 August 2018 at the Kinning Park Complex, 43 Cornwall Street, Glasgow G41 1BA.

This one takes us back to our roots, with a special focus on all the excellent community growing projects across the city. We’ll be celebrating the remarkable progress and achievements of the growing community of Glasgow, hearing from speakers involved in different aspects and types of gardening projects.

We’ll also take some time to discuss different questions pertinent to community gardening, including the new Local Growing Strategy, supporting volunteers, being enterprising, and more.

As always, we’ll have a delicious networking lunch using locally sourced ingredients from a Glasgow based social enterprise.

The event is free and open to all but please take a minute to book a place. And if you are not a GCFN member you can sign up now on the GCFN website.

Applications are invited for Glasgow City Council’s Stalled Spaces Programme, 2018-19. Community groups or local organisations across Glasgow are encouraged to apply for innovative projects aimed at improving and activating stalled sites or underused open spaces in the city.

Funding is available from a minimum £1,000 to a maximum £4,500 and the closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 27 August 2018.
