SummerProgramme_ImageDuring July and August we’re looking for people to get active and get involved in tidying up the local area.  There are going to be community clean ups on Wednesday mornings and gardening sessions at Kingsway Court Community Garden on a Thursday morning.

It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, improve your community, get outdoors and have fun.  You don’t need any special skills or to be a fantastic gardener, you just need to be prepared to join in.

The first community clean up will be happening at 11am on Wednesday 6th July.  We’re meeting at 11.00am at the Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre and will be out for about 2 hours.  Everyone is welcome to come, but under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.  Litter picks and hi-viz will be provided, but you’d be advised to not wear your best clothes.

The first gardening session will be at 10am on Thursday 7th July, meeting at the Kingsway Court Community Garden (just off the junction of Kingsway and Danes Drive) and the sessions will run from 10.00am to 1.00pm.  Again you can just turn up.

We look forward to seeing you and enjoying a summer of getting outdoors and active! For more information please contact Sarah on 07943 080593 or sarah@dumbartonroad.com Our summer programme is funded by the Integrated Grant Fund.

KSB_LitterPickPlus_imageThe Clean Up Scotland campaign has recently launched the new Litter Pick Plus toolkit which is now available to download.

Litter Pick Plus is a new innovation which looks at all of the additional factors that link together to make an area clean and green.  By going beyond normal Clean Ups and continuing to look after the area once it has been cleaned, we want to focus on preventing litter in the first place.

The new toolkit pulls together lots of suggestions on how to Take Action, Communicate and Campaign to get the most out of your community Clean Ups.
