GoWildCompSustrans Scotland are calling on people to send them photos of the National Cycle Network in Scotland to be in with a chance of winning fantastic prizes!

They’re inviting people who enjoy the National Cycle Network of all ages, backgrounds and photography experience levels to submit their best images of the National Cycle Network in Scotland. They’re looking for photos that reflect the National Cycle Network as an amazing place to spot wildlife and experience nature when travelling by foot or bike.

They’ll be offering some fantastic prizes for winning entries, and shortlisted entries will be featured on the Union Canal for visitors to see during the month of August, as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

There are three categories for participants to enter, with a prize awarded for the winner of each category

  • Category 1 – Wildlife on the Network, Scottish Wildlife Trust – What wildlife have you spotted when walking or cycling on the National Cycle Network? This could include a bumblebee buzzing about some flowers, a fox crossing your path or any other wildlife you come across.
  • Category 2 – Canal Magic, Scottish Canals – Have you spotted any #CanalMagic when walking or cycling on the canal towpaths? This category is looking for fantastic images of the wildlife that call the canals their home, from swans and kingfishers to water voles and roe deer.
  • Category 3 – Natural Network, Sustrans Scotland – This category recognises the National Cycle Network as a place to see stunning scenery. We’d love to see any shots of mountains, forest, bodies of water or hills on your National Cycle Network route.

Closing date for entries is Monday 18 June 2018.

20161112_prizewinnersWe are delighted to announce a couple of winners recently picked up their prizes.

You may recall that as part of our 50th eNews we asked readers to complete a short survey and those that wanted to be were entered into a prize draw to win a £20 voucher for the Cabin restaurant in Whiteinch. We are delighted that regular eNews reader Brian has won the prize and he popped by the office to get the voucher.

Also we recently donated a voucher for a reused bike to a charity fundraising event run by the Bucket List Foundation. The voucher was auctioned off and and delighted that the winner Raymond was also able to pop up and pick up his bike!

Congratulations and enjoy your prizes!
