Glasgow City Council has updated their website to make it easier to find out what’s on in parks throughout the Dear Green Place. Please visit

Glasgow’s vast range of stunning parks and green spaces are managed to provide enjoyment of open air, outdoor recreation and public access. There are over 90 parks and formal gardens within the city boundaries and such is the diversity of these parks – there is something to suit everyone.

The parks and venues are also used to host hundreds of fantastic events and activities throughout the year.  Come along and take part in loads of not to be missed, fun filled events.

Glasgow City Council has appointed consultants Here+Now to engage with Glaswegians to get their views regarding the future of food growing in Glasgow. This will look at issues such as community gardens, allotments, vacant and derelict land, the circular economy and urban agriculture!

The Community Empowerment Act 2015 places a duty on all Scottish Local Authorities to prepare a food growing strategy for its area and identify land suitable for growing.

A number of workshops will be held to find out more about people’s needs and wishes when it comes to urban growing and would like to invite you or anyone that might be interested to one of the workshop sessions. Whether you’re a keen gardener, involved in a community growing project, hold an allotment or have never been involved in a community growing project before, they would like to hear from you.
