The Drumchapel Thriving Together Family Fun Event will take place from 12-5pm on Saturday 21 July at the Drumchapel Shopping Centre, 59 Kinfauns Dr, Glasgow G15 7TG The event is being organised by AFFIT.

There will be lots of different activities on offer including live music, face painting, arts and crafts, inflatables, holistic therapies, story telling, community information and lots more including our own pedal powered smoothies!!

AFFIT works as part of the North-West Recovery Communities (NWRC), and is committed to delivering a diverse calendar of alcohol free occasions at venues across the north west of Glasgow. AFFIT events are open and accessible to all the people of Glasgow, and are aimed at supporting those who want to improve outcomes for their community in relation to alcohol use.

play-street-webThe Messy Church at Scotstoun Parish Church and the Knightswood Congregational Church are both taking party in the Glasgow Life Street Play events on the weekend of Sat 4 and Sun 5 Jun.

Glasgow Life has been working with Play On Pedals and the Council to provide local communities FREE road closures in their area to allow local resident children and adults to play outdoors in the street and celebrate the beginning of summer! They can ride their bikes, play games or skip and skate on the road!

The Messy Church in Scotstoun will be holding and a family fun event including Play on Pedals and De’ils On Wheels will be providing FREE Dr Bike checks. There will be also be lots of other stalls and a BBQ. The event will be from 4-6pm on Sat 4 Jun in Ormiston Avenue.

Knightswood Congregational Church will be holding a family fun day and good old fashion street party on Sat 4 Jun from 11am till 3pm (Entry free) in Dunterlie Avenue. Bikes, peevers, skipping ropes, bouncy castle, model railway, community groups, community police, fire brigade, food, homebaking, teas/coffee and juice will be available from 11.30am till 1.30pm.

Playing Out is a national organisation that exists to support anyone who wants children to be able to play out in the streets where they live.

KnightswoodFamilyDay_2015_cropThis years Knightswood Park Fun Day takes place on Saturday 5 September from midday to 4pm. The event is FREE to attend and there will be lots to see and do.

We will be along with our cycle skills course and Dr Bike will be checking over bikes. There will also be a chance for the really young kids to learn to ride with Play On Pedals.

The event will also see the official launch of our West Glasgow Pedallers We Go Pedal project! And there will be plenty of cycle parking available on the day as well.

This free fun day includes street theatre, drakes of hazard, music stage, bouncy castle, face painting, model boat club and much more. Come along and join in the fun, something to suit everyone.

Kingsway Court Health & Wellbeing Centre will be holding their Summer Family Games Day at the Kingsway Court community garden and Danes Drive park from 1pm to 5pm on Friday 25 July 2014. There will be loads of stuff for everyone to get involved in and we will be along with our cycle skills course so why not pop along and have a great day out!

CommonwealthConnectionsCommonwealth Connections, a free, family fun-day event, is coming to Victoria Park from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday 16 August. The event will feature a variety of sports taster sessions for kids, an art and photopgraphy exhibition, assault course, brass band, circus skills, craft tent, face painting and we will be along with The Whiteinch Bike Club doing Dr Bike bike checks and cycling skills activities! Whiteinch Community Council are organising the event in partnership with a range of local organisations and the event is part of the Celebrate It funding programme.

GoingForGoldWhiteinchAnd in the run up to the event The Whiteinch Centre will be joining in on all the excitement with its very own sports and culture programme – Going for Gold Whiteinch which starts on Monday 30 June and runs right through the summer holidays. Throughout the summer you will have the chance to get involved and try out something new for both kids and adults. They will also be running a Design a Mascot competition with the lucky winner getting to escort a real, life version of their design to the Commonwealth Connections event!

De’ils On WheelsWhiteinch_SpringFestivalFlyer_03May2014 will be along at the Whiteinch Centre Spring Festival on Saturday 3 May offering free Dr Bike checks so get yourself along from 1.30-4.30pm to get a free bike check and get your wheels ready for Spring!

The event runs from 1.30 to 5.00pm and there will be a range of activities including face painting, arts and crafts, a fashion show, a magician, balloon modelling a graffiti wall and lots more fun for all the family – and you can also catch up with the guys from The Whiteinch Bike Club! So what are you waiting for – get yourself down to Whiteinch to celebrate Spring!

This years Fun Day in Knightswood Park takes place this Saturday – 24 August – from midday to 4pm. ThIMG_20130809_120006e event is free to attend and there will be lots to see and do.
