firstbus_jamaicast_map_changes_feb17From Sunday 12 February there will be changes to the bus stops in the city centre which will effect FirstBus Glasgow numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and X4.

From this date the northbound contraflow bus lane on Jamaica Street will be permanently closed. As a result, FirstBus Glasgow would like to make our customers aware of the following changes:

  • The bus stop on Jamaica Street at McDonalds will no longer be in use
  • Bus stops on Oswald Street will be changed
  • First Glasgow buses will not use the bus stop on Argyle Street at The Radisson Hotel
  • Services 9, 9A will no longer stop on Hope Street at Central Station
  • The One, 2, X4, 7, 7A, 60, 60A, 61 and 75 will be rerouted via Midland Street and Oswald Street when heading towards Hope Street

bus-glasgowFirstBus Glasgow recently announced that there would be various service changes coming into force from Sunday 23 October including changes to the existing 4/4A routes.

FirstBus are proposing to terminate both the 4 and 4A in Broomhill and the introducing two new services – the X4 which will go from Knightscliffe Avenue, via Westbrae Drive in Jordanhill and the ExpressWay to the City Centre and the M4 which will run a loop service between Kelvindale and Anniesland.

Local residents are not happy about the proposed changes and the complete lack of consultation about the changes. A petition has been set up by Kelvindale Community Council as local residents will be severely affected when their only direct bus into the city centre is axed.Over 1300 people have signed the petition so far.
