Glasgow Social Enterprise Network (GSEN) recently launched their first Pocket Guide to Glasgow Social Enterprise and DRC Environment Trust and De’ils On Wheels both feature in the guide!

This comprehensive guide is packed full of information on social enterprises in Glasgow. Inside you will find GSEN membership organisations broken down into categories where it will be easy for you to find out what products and services GSEN members offer, handy descriptions and that all important contact information.

This guide will also help you explore what a social enterprise is and understand the diversity; while also drawing attention to the scale and highlighting the impact they are having on the social, economic and environmental life of the city.

GSEN_Sparking_IdeasGlasgow Social Enterprise Network (GSEN) in collaboration with UnLtd Scotland are hosting a special event – Sparking Ideas: Creating Solutions for Glasgow’s Social Challenges – from 10am to 1pm on Thursday 1 March 2018 at Maryhill Burgh Halls, 24 Gairbraid Ave, Glasgow G20 8YE

The purpose of the Sparking Ideas: Creating Solutions for Glasgow’s Social Challenges event is to inspire the next generation of social entrepreneurs to start something good! Those interested in coming along can sign up here.

This event will feature three inspiring speakers who have created ideas to address community problems and are having a remarkable impact. This session is for anyone interested in what UnLtd Scotland and GSEN can do to help you develop ideas for social and community change, and turn them into reality. Come join us to get your creative juices flowing. We will talk through the support to help you get started, including how to apply for our start-up funding of up to £5K.

Glasgow Social Enterprise Network (GSEN) recently published their third Social Enterprise in Glasgow report, following similar reports published in 2013 and 2015.

Delegates at the event, held at the Glasgow Women’s Library, heard Keynote Speaker Cllr Rhiannon Spear highlight inclusive and economic growth is at the heart of the new administration within Glasgow City Council.  Cllr Spear also announced the implementation of a newly reformed Glasgow Economic Partnership Group, where GSEN will take a seat, and the development of a local social enterprise strategy.

GSEN_TradeShowOn Wednesday 10 December Glasgow Social Enterprise Network will host it’s first Social Enterprise Trade Show at The Briggait, the stunning historical building redeveloped by Wasps Artists’ Studios.

This FREE event is aimed at businesses and public alike. Drop in and join us for our first Glasgow Social Enterprise Trade Show. While you’re there, find out what social enterprise means for our communities and city, build business connections or trade and get involved in our activity programme where all your senses will be heightened.

Recently we went on a study visit to Bute as part of the Glasgow Social Enterprise Network (GSEN). Along with five other GSEN members we set off from Glasgow Central on the train to Wemyss Bay before being transported across the Firth of Clyde courtesy of CalMac on the MV Bute.GSEN_Logo

The visit was hosted by the Argyll & Bute Social Enterprise Network, which exists to support Argyll and Bute’s thriving social enterprises and whilst therre we were able to network with about a dozen ABSEN members.
