The main accommodation and facilities include; a commercial kitchen and café area; a main hall with stage and dressing rooms; a lesser hall and other rooms for lease/ hire; several support rooms/offices and onsite parking.

Check out their online calendar for details of all the different activities and services the Centre offers.

The Centre was managed and operated by Glasgow Life until October 2015 when it was transferred to community management by Glasgow City Council. It is now operated by Knightswood Community SCIO.

Glasgow City Council have announced plans upgrade outdated blaes pitches with multi-use games areas (MUGAs) at 14 primary schools including St Paul’s in Whiteinch and Corpus Christi in Knightswood. Both schools are Cycle Friendly Primary Schools!

The investment is the first phase in a programme which will eventually see all 41 blaes pitches at city primary schools replaced.

Details on when the 14 MUGAs will be available for use by pupils are still being finalised, but work will commence after the start of the new school term in August.

Usually made from a synthetic surface such as artificial grass, macadam and polymeric rubber, MUGAs provide for a range of different sports including football, tennis, hockey, basketball, netball and volleyball.

Corpus Christi Primary School in Knightswood has some wheel-y great news – they have just become a Cycle Friendly Primary School, a nationally recognised award from Cycling Scotland. Corpus Christi is only the 9th primary school in Glasgow and the 350th in Scotland to achieve the Award.

The school has been working really hard over the past few months and has really lived up to it’s motto – We Try Our Best To Be The Best. The school, which has over 400 pupils, has been undertaking a range of cycling and active travel related activities as they worked towards the award. Two groups of pupils have completed their Bikeability Level 2 on road training; the Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs) have undertaken a survey of teachers and parents that was used to help develop the School Travel Plan; pupils have attended a School Run Summit; they have undertaken a zig-zag campaign and pupils also took part in the Council’s Clean Air Day celebrations.

The School celebrated their achievements with a Bike Day for the whole school which saw guest speakers Markus Stitz (the first person to cycle around the world on a singlespeed bike) and Charline Joiner (Scottish racing cyclist and Commonwealth Games silver medalist) bring their bikes to school to speak to the pupils about their experiences.

The Environmental Task Force (ETF) provided a Ward activity update at the recent Ward 13 Garscadden/Scotstounhill Area Partnership meeting. The Ward covers Yoker, Knightswood and Scotstoun neighbourhoods.

This report provides details of ETF within Ward 13 and it gives a snapshot of information on the communications channels used to report issues to the ETF.

The establishment of the Environmental Task Force (ETF) marked a new approach to service delivery along thematic lines rather than more traditional departmental lines. This new approach encourages integrated working across a range of Council Family services to a common theme. It creates a framework for various services from across the Council Family and partner organisations to share common objectives, a shared understanding of success, and improved targeting and coordination of services.

You can download the report from the Council website or here 20180424_Ward13_AP_ETF_Report_Apr17-Jan18
