Cycling UK are recruiting for a Play Together on Pedals Development Officer and Glasgow Community Cycling Network Co-ordinator.

A contract until May 2019 is being offered, with the potential for extension, subject to funding. This post covers two related roles, making up a fulltime post (37.5 hours a week) £24,000 pro rata. The first role is the Play Together on Pedals Development Officer (funding secured, 22.5 hours per week) and the second role is Glasgow Community Cycling Network Co-ordinator (subject to
funding being agreed, 15 hours per week)

Cycling UK are looking for a Development officer to join the Cycling UK team in Scotland to help run the Play Together on Pedals (PTOP) in Glasgow which is a partnership project, led by Cycling UK, Play Scotland and Cycling Scotland.  This Development Officer role will support the programme development in early years settings, ensure families can access Play Together on Pedals through community based sessions and collaborate with the Glasgow Community Cycling Network (GCCN) to enable more people to cycle in Glasgow for everyday journeys.

If you’re an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual with a passion for supporting people to try cycling for everyday journeys, Cycling UK would love to hear from you.

CyclingExtravaganzaThe Glasgow Community Cycling Network presents another Cycling Extravaganza on Sunday 21st January 12-4pm at the Glasgow Caring City WEEE Recycling Centre, 249 Govan Road, Glasgow G51 5HJ.

Pedal your way into 2018! Activities for children and adults – everyone welcome! Practice your cycling skills and build your confidence, try out your new Christmas bikes or even learn to ride for the very first time .

This will be an indoor event, held again in the WEEE recycling warehouse and it is for both adults and children, of all ages and abilities.

Please book in for lessons, but there will be a limited number of drop in spaces available on the day. Please do not book a ticket if you do not intend to show up. There were 30% no shows at the last event, spaces which could have been filled.

PlayOnPedalsPlay On Pedals will be running free drop-in sessions at Scotstoun Leisure Centre, 112 Danes Drive, G14 9HY in the run up to Christmas!

The sessions at Scotstoun Leisure Centre will take place on:

  • Sunday 29 October (12-2pm)
  • Sunday 5 November (1-3pm)
  • Sunday 19 November (1-3pm)
  • Sunday 3 December (12-2pm)
  • Sunday 17 December (1-3pm) changed to 3-5pm!

Play On Pedals aims to provide every nursery child in the city the opportunity to try riding a bike before they get to primary school. All sessions are free and are aimed at under-5s. All the equipment will be provided and there is no need to book – so just pop along and have a great time!
