Yoker Community Campus and Volunteer Glasgow are seeking experienced Literacy Tutors over 18 years of age to support young people and adults with additional needs to improve their life opportunities.

The INCLUDED project is seeking 6 tutors to deliver learning sessions in creative and innovative ways. The learning can take place in groups or in individual sessions. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone seeking to develop or enhance their tutoring skills. To learn more click here.

There is a lot they would like to share with you and they ask for your support by coming along to the Yoker Resource Centre AGM. They hope that you can take the time to attend the AGM and assure you that those attending will find the meeting not only interesting but informative about the future of community services in Yoker and its adjoining neighbourhoods.

The Centre and those that need and benefit from its services would appreciate the support of you, your friends and colleagues or members of your household by coming along to the AGM.

There will be light refreshments from 6.30pm. If you are elderly or infirm transport to and from the meeting can be arranged. Creche and child care facilities are also available for up to 12 years old. It is helpful if you can book creche or transport in advance by phoning 0141 952 6485.

Our AGM is a great opportunity to hear about all the work that we have been involved with over the past year as well as to meet up with friends old and new! We will celebrate our projects and achievements, hear from some of our partners and discuss the environmental issues that are of interest and concern for you and your community. There will be a small lunch buffet and refreshments available!

Yoker Resource Centre and Community Campus community garden is now host to the newest hotel in wpid-IMG_20130809_112646.jpgthe area – the Yoker Bug Hotel – with the grass roofed abode proving extremely popular with the local bug and insect population!

The community garden is in full bloom at the moment with plenty of apples on the trees, strawberries and other vegetables and fruit coming through!

DRCET cordially invite you to attend our eighth Annual General Meeting!

The end of summer is the time when we gather together for our AGM. This year will be our 8th AGM and it will take place at 7pm on Thursday 30 August at the Yoker Community Campus.

The AGM will be an opportunity to meet up with friends old and new, to celebrate our projects and achievements over the past 12 months, and to discuss the environmental issues that are of interest and concern for you and your community.

DRCET continues to work hard for the benefit of local communities, and we continue to make good progress, in what are undoubtedly very challenging times. We hope you are able to join us at the AGM and help contribute to the event.

If you are a member and you are interested in standing for election as a director of the Trust then this needs to be submitted in writing before Friday 24 August. Or if you wish to discuss this further please contact the office by email or on 0141 433 0427.
